Carried across the Pyrenees by the shepherds for over a century, and now synonymous with the Pays Basque - Le baton de Berger is an easy to use sausage mimicking a stick still used to this day by shepherds in the Basque Country to age and dry their sausages. This centuries old tradition is now coupled with modern techniques which give birth to a typical product of Atlantic France. Featuring a long rectangular shape and a full metal casing the Le Baton de Berger is designed for pressing on all types of sausage. Manufactured from high quality suction-cast metal, it will seamlessly glide over the interior of your grinder. Use this to season your sausages with herbs, spices and fruits before stuffing, or flavor them after you've stuffed them. Recognized all over the world, this classic French sausage, created in the 19th century, is a pleasure to prepare, easy to serve and to eat. Its stuffing is composed of ground meats (pork, veal, mutton or poultry), herbs and spices. The simplicity of its recipe and its diversity give it a unique flavor.
