  1. In a large skillet, brown the chicken breasts over medium-high heat until lightly browned on all sides. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  2. Add the butter to the pan, add the onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes, until golden. Add the mushrooms and garlic. Sauté for 1-2 minutes, until the mushrooms are golden.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and add the flour, mixing well.
  4. Return the pan to the heat and put the chicken back into the pan. Add the broth and pepper. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, over medium-low heat, until the chicken is cooked.
  5. Mix in the cream and salt. Simmer for 10 minutes on medium-low heat to thicken the sauce. Serve immediately.
